King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh (KFSH&RC-R), is recognized internationally for its world-class facility, latest medical technology and equipment, experienced and professional doctors and health care providers, and excellent medical care. KFSH&RC-R opened in 1975 and is located close to Riyadh’s city center. The hospital has reached an international standard of excellence equivalent to that of leading global academic medical centers. KFSH&RC-R focuses primarily on research in the field of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, transplant immunology, genetics, molecular diagnostics, and proteomics. Scope of Service in Emergency departments in KFSH&RC


The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) in Riyadh offers comprehensive, around-the-clock emergency care across four main sections:
• Adult Emergency Services: Provides immediate medical attention for acute illnesses and injuries in adult patients.
• Pediatric Emergency Services: Specializes in urgent care for infants, children, and adolescents, addressing a wide range of medical emergencies specific to younger patients.
• Urgent Care Clinic: Caters to non-life-threatening conditions requiring prompt medical evaluation and treatment.
• Ambulance Services: Delivers pre-hospital emergency care and transportation, staffed by trained paramedics and emergency medical technicians.
The DEM is distinguished as the first Accredited Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) in Saudi Arabia, a recognition achieved in collaboration with the Heart Centre. This accreditation underscores the department’s commitment to delivering high-quality cardiac emergency care. 
In October 2024, KFSH&RC introduced the Mobile Stroke Unit, an innovative service designed to provide immediate stroke care during patient transport. This unit is equipped with advanced imaging capabilities, enabling rapid diagnosis and treatment initiation, thereby enhancing patient outcomes. 
The department’s organizational structure includes a Chairman, supported by Deputies, Section Heads, and an Ambulance Manager, ensuring efficient management and delivery of emergency services. The DEM’s certified staff are adept at handling a broad spectrum of internal and external emergencies, reflecting KFSH&RC’s dedication to excellence in emergency medical care.
